Scott Tignor was born in Charleston, WV. He holds degrees from Tennessee Technological University (BM, Music Education) and Arkansas State University (MM, Music Composition), and University of North Texas (DMA, Tuba Performance.) Dr. Tignor has performed throughout the United States, and is an enthusiast of electroacoustic tuba music. He has severed as principal tubist with Midland/Odessa Symphony and Chorale, Garland Symphony Orchestra, Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, and New Symphony of Arlington. Dr. Tignor is the Director of Bands at Ravenswood High/Middle Schools in Ravenswood, WV, and is an Adjunct Professor at Marietta College. He has held previous positions at Mineral Wells Schools, Mineral Wells, TX, Ritchie County Schools, Ellenboro, WV and West Liberty University. In 2010, he was selected as the National Symphony Teacher Fellow. Dr. Tignor has served as the West Virginia Bandmaster (WVBA) Graded Music Chairman, RESA 5 Arts Team and currently severs as the WVBA Region 2 Representative. His music is published by Cimarron Music Publications and PerMus Publication.
